Wefax Decoder · Free online shortwave weather fax decoder

What this site is

Wefax Decoder (wefax.bashige.com) is a free online decoder for HF weather fax (Radiofax). Upload a station recording (WAV / MP3 / FLAC / OGG) or receive live via your microphone, and turn black-1500Hz / white-2300Hz FM audio back into weather fax images — right in your browser.

How it works

The page mixes the audio down from 1900Hz to baseband I/Q, runs an FM discriminator to recover instantaneous frequency, maps it to pixel brightness, and paints row after row using the LPM speed and IOC cooperation index — with phase, slant and contrast correction plus PNG export. Everything runs locally in your browser.

Privacy promise

Your audio files are never uploaded to any server; decoding works fully offline. Third-party ads (Google AdSense) may use cookies — see our Privacy Policy.
